Grounding your club in a hazard Under the current Rules of Golf, you must not touch the ground with your hand or club when in a hazard. However, under the proposed changes you will be allowed to touch the ground in a penalty area (new Rule 17.1a), permitting you to make a practice swing and ground your club before a shot, as long as you’re not improving your lie or stance. |
