The recent Distance Insight Report from the R&A and USGA asserted that continued distance gains (especially among the professional game) is hurting golf. With that in mind, it was a pleasure to see at the Arnold Palmer Invitational only four players ended under par with a certain Englishman making history. Opening his account

Tyrrell Hatton was one of only four players to end the Arnold Palmer Invitational under par as he held on in tricky conditions to land his first PGA Tour title and record the first Bay Hill victory for an Englishman.

2017 champion Marc Leishman ran him close but fell one-shot short with a double-bogey at the third ultimately proving his downfall.

There was more misery for McIlroy though who started Sunday joint second before a pair of double-bogeys dropped him to a tie for fifth.

The square root of....

If you want to keep the dreaded hooks and slices at bay, hitting the ball with a square clubface is one part of the answer. It’s easier said than done we know, but we have come up with a couple of handy tips that will help your cause.

Get a grip

Squaring the clubface begins with consistency in our hand placement on the grip. If you can get your fundamentals right on every shot, you’ll give yourself the best chance of hitting the shot you want to.

Practice makes perfect

Small tweaks can make a big difference so during a lesson we will take a look at your swing and suggest a few changes that will help you hit the ball better on a more consistent basis.
